Job Fairs for Foreign Exchange Students and Workers

When foreign people who are studying in Japan or living in Japan want to get a job in a Japanese company, they have several ways to do job hunting activities. Among them, participating in a Job Fair where many companies gather in one place makes it possible to find out about various companies at once, so you can proceed with job hunting efficiently.

So, this time I’ll introduce some upcoming Job Fairs for foreign students who are going to graduate in 2019 and foreign people who are living in Japan.

See upcoming Job Fair event information below.

What time should you go to a Job fair?

You can come at any time as long as it is within the reception hours. However, in order to see as many companies as possible and obtain related information for your job hunting in Japan, I recommend that you arrive as early as possible.

What are appropriate clothes for a Job Fair?

You should wear a suit. You should avoid wearing casual clothing such as jeans or t-shirts. You’ll be speaking with personnel representatives of companies, so it is important to make a good impression.

Know-how and tips for successful job hunting

  • By participating in a Job Fair, you can get lots of opportunities and advice. I think that you can get a job in Japan if you can leverage what you learned at the Job Fair in the actual job interview.
  • In order to obtain information, it is good to consult at various places and find people who are easy to talk to. Moreover, rather than going to as many company interviews as possible, it is better to narrow down the companies to visit in advance, by deciding exactly what company you want to work for and what you want to do.
  • Especially for students, it is important to start job hunting well before graduation. You will have to compete against many other excellent candidates applying for good companies, so don’t wait.
  • Let’s learn Japanese thoroughly. Japanese companies seek globalization for their employees, but they demand flexibility of foreign people. There are many companies that require Japanese. Japanese may be difficult, but you should improve it to a very high level during job hunting.

For foreign people, I think it is difficult to get a job in Japan, but do not give up. I think that absolutely success will be found if you do your best. I support all of you!
